Vehicle Description
1962 Ferrari 330 GT Prototype For Sale in Rowlett, Texas 75088 The
330 2+2 serial numbers start at about 5100. The 250s ended at 5000
and they made 50 Americas, which was a 250 with a 330 engine. This
car is the third prototype of 6 pre-production cars. The first was
a 250 that was sold. The second was scrapped. #4085 was the third.
The fourth was owned by Christian Briggs and was sold at auction 2
years ago for $465,000. There were two more cars that were
pre-production. 4085 was at the factory for 2 years and Enzo
Ferarri drove it for some time. In 1964 it was sold to North
America as a new car! The biggest difference, and what makes this
car completely unique, is that the fuse box is in the same place as
a 250, behind the firewall on the passenger side. The motor is
earlier and was at the factory; it is from a 250 America. This car
was featured in the press release pictures shot at the factory.
There are also pictures of this car outside Enzo Ferrari's house.
This is a non A/C car with roll up windows. Bob Norwood has had
this car since 2007 and has spent a lot of time researching its
history. The engine is a large bore 330 with 40 mm carbs. The
brakes are like a 250.
