For Sale: 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air in Arlington, Texas

Vehicle Description

1953 Chevrolet Bel Air

With the onset of the 1950's things were starting to change for Chevrolet. They came up with a revolutionary style that would carry on for many years to come...the Hardtop. These cars were style like convertibles with a non removable solid roof. The idea of Hardtops had been around for some time but never caught on until the Bel Air was release. The first generation of Bel Airs spanned from 1950 to 1954. In 53 Chevrolet renamed its series and the Bel Air was applied to the premium models with the 150 and 210 being introduced as lower models. This year also brought with it some restyle body panels as the cars slowly started to take on a more boxy shape that would become popular later in the decade. This 53 is a really nice car and a real Bel Air 2 door hardtop. The car has undergone a complete body off restoration that was very well done. It has only racked up 100 miles since being finished so the quality is still fresh. The body is in great condition and very straight. It is coated in a nice Red paint with a White top. The color combo looks great especially when you incorporate all of that 50's chrome. The stainless and chrome pieces all have a beautiful shine with no pitting, cracking or issues at all. The car underwent a factory style restoration so all of the correct original pieces are there. It even has the original style visor for the ultimate early 50's look. The car rides on original style wheels and hubcaps wrapped with wide white wall tires.

Powering the car down the road is the 235 ci inline 6 cylinder motor. The engine compartment has a nice clean finished look with everything being painted. The 6 cylinder motor is fitted with a 2 barrel carb and is mostly stock. The only major modification is with the exhaust which was split into duals with Flowmasters. During the restoration the brakes and suspension were entirely rebuilt with all of the suspension components being replaced. Backing up the motor is a 2 speed automatic transmission that switches gears smoothly with no issues.

The interior was redone in a Red and White combo that looks really good. The upholstery and carpet still look like new because they just haven't seen a lot of wear since being finished. The dash is painted in a Red and White combo as well and is fitted with all of the stock style components. A separate under dash gauge pod has been added for temp, amp, and oil pressure gauges. All of the trim pieces and chrome pieces inside the car look just as good as the exterior pieces. The trunk of the car has been coated with a liner and fitted with Black carpeting. In addition to a great car, with this purchase you will also receive a few boxes of extra components.

To restore a car like this yourself would cost much more than our asking price so by this freshly built Bel Air instead!
