The Model: For Bruce McLaren, winning is in his blood. Part of
winning is being on the cutting edge and when he started to build
limited production runs of super-cars, he was really sharpening up
the cutting-edge. His popular F1 series which ceased produced in
the late 1990's, his newest edition, the MP4-12C, often referred by
just the last part of the model name, employed carbon fiber to
reduce weight and provide amazing strength. His MonoCell tub
weighed in at just 176 pounds and was created by Formax UK Ltd.
supplied Bi-Axial and Tri-Axial fabrics crafted by Carbo-Tech in
Austria. Group boss Ron Dennis was obsessed with precision and his
demand of being ergonomically perfect was seen in the final
interior designs. Powering the 12C is the McLaren M383T V8. Using
expertise acquired from Menard Competition Technologies this engine
redlines at 8500 rpm, but 80% of its torque is delivered as low as
2000 rpm. Today the 12C still reigns as a force to be reckoned with
on the track or on the street.
The Car: This outstanding edition of the 12C coupe is finished in
Ice Silver Elite paint. The interior is strictly functional with
over $25,000 factory carbon fiber additional options fitted with
gray leather seating surfaces. Maintaining its low silhouette by
retaining the unique optioned lightweight forged wheels which are
shod with a set of Michelin P-Zero tires, this car is reported to
be in excellent like new condition. Our consigner finds it very
hard to let this car go, as it delivers a performance in driving
that is nearly impossible to equal. Stunning good looks, totally
functional in all parameters, and a car that can mistaken for no
other, the 12C will not disappoint the new owner, unless they were
looking for a family wagon. This McLaren delivers one of most
prestigious performance packages in the super-car segment. A no
stories 2 owner pampered vehicle sold new in Dallas, Texas for
$288,990 offering an outstanding performance value in today's
market.
