The Model: Vanquish has proven to be one of the most successful
models ever developed and marketed by Aston Martin. Taking a number
of styling touches from the Aston Martin One-77 as well as the
production DBS, it was the perfect next step in the evolution of a
car favored by Britain's favorite spy. Weight was dramatically
reduced through the extensive use of carbon fiber for the majority
of the body's construction. A totally new chassis, of the 4VH
family also features a large use of carbon fiber. Inside the car
more color than ever before could be found on the inside of this
model using hand stitched leather and alcantara for the seat
coverings. Information and entertainment are contained in a center
console was a total departure from previous models with high-end
electronic switches that control not only the windows, but also
stop-start functions as well as shifting the Touchtronic
transmission. The trusty V12 was upgraded to produce 565 HP and had
a full stainless steel exhaust system that will probably out-last
most of the cars. Standard with the four are the ventilated
carbon-ceramic disc brakes using six pistons to the font and four
to the rear. Special 20" alloy wheels fitted at the factory with
Pirelli P-Zero tire allow this luxury sports coupe to roll
effortlessly down a modern highway or quaint village lane.
The Car: It will take a couple of minutes to get used to driving
your new Vanquish. Starting is accomplished by inserting the
sapphire blue glass fob into the centrally located slot, waiting a
moment for it to turn red, and then pushing it bring real
excitement to your motoring experience. Upon start up the side view
mirrors move from their retracted position to where they provide
excellent vision to the rear. Across the center of the dash are
four glass buttons marked P-R-N-D, and those are the Touchtronic
transmission controls. It also features the Sport option for the
transmission, a $1,020 extra when new. Out of the center console
the Navigation monitor will rise, if you want music the Bang &
Olufsen audio system can meet your needs. This example is finished
in Centenary Silver which accents in an understated way, the
elegance in form and design of this car. But prepare yourself for
the bright blue leather interior that awaits when you open the
door. This is not a sedate and somber Navy Blue, nor is it a
neutralizing blue-gray, this is BLUE! Since this car was delivered
new to its first owner we are told it has always been in the care
of factory trained service mechanics. Exquisite in every way, this
Vanquish is the cream of the crop.
