Vehicle Description
Although just built for only fourteen years the Jaguar XKE
definitely made a huge impact both then and now. Enzo Ferrari was
even quoted as saying that the E-type Jaguar was the most Beautiful
car ever built and Sports Car International magazine placed the
E-Type at number one on their list of Top Sports Cars of the
1960's. It was essentially built in three variants, a Fixed Head
Coupe , a Open Two-Seater or convertible and the 2+2 which was a
coupe with 4 seats. And even though it was essentially a single
design body for those fourteen years it did have three generations
or three significant updates. This particular car is a Series III
and it was only offered in a OTS or a 2+2 model. There were also
only three options that could be purchased with these and those are
wire wheels, air conditioning and automatic transmission. There
were no engine variants offered as they were all the 5.3 Liter
V12.
This particular stunning Jaguar comes with all three options from
new and is largely original with the exception of a re-paint some
time ago that still shows very well. The Air-Conditioning still
blows ice cold with all lights still in working order. The interior
is all original and is showing signs of age in the seats but the
rest is nice. Other than the typical surface aging on the under
carriage, the rest of the car appears to be free of any rust or
rot. This is a wonderful example that runs, drives and shifts
excellently with a working original radio! This XKE comes out of
long-term ownership and is believed to be a two-owner car.
