Vehicle Description
This exceptional 1947 MG TC Roadster is a no expense spared
highest-quality restoration that has been judged to the highest
standards of accuracy and finish in rigorous Antique Automobile
Club of America judging, presented with AACA Junior, Senior, Grand
National and Senior Grand National awards. The exterior is finished
in classic British Racing Green, with properly painted silver wire
wheels mounted with correct Dunlop tires. The interior has also
been restored with correct Biscuit light tan leather that is in
very good condition and fitted with safety belts. The finish of the
wood dashboard is superb, including clear gauges, all switches,
controls and trim, fitted with a Bluemels Brooklands steering
wheel. A tan cloth top and top boot add to the exterior
presentation, along with Lucas King of the Road headlamps with
correct and rare cat's-eye lenses, a badge bar mounted with a
single spotlight, an auxiliary horn and AACA awards, with dual
spares mounted at the rear. With right-hand drive, this features a
1,250cc engine with 4-speed manual transmission. Under the hood,
the quality and conservation of the restoration are again in
evidence with the correctly painted firewall, hardware, accessories
and trim all appearing like-new. This is an important part of
post-war sports car history. This car presents a unique opportunity
to own what many consider to be the epitome of British classic
touring convertibles and is sure to be enjoyed for years to come by
its next owner. This 1947 MG TC is a magnificent example of the
classic British Roadster and is an absolute joy to drive. 1.3-Litre
(1,250cc) 54hp/64lb-ft 4-Cylinder Engine. 4-Speed Manual Trans. The
MG TC has truly classic looks, not unlike early Jaguars and
Triumphs. The design is magic. It's elegant and absolutely stylish,
with a disproportionately long hood. Professionally restored and
excellent throughout. The MG TC is a standard transmission,
rear-wheel-drive roadster. It represents the state-of-the-art in
engine design, transmission, and suspension... for 1947. The MG
does have rack and pinion steering, which for its time was a superb
offering --- and was a big improvement over the reins and stirrups
that were in use just a few years earlier. Because there are no
controls, ergonomics are superb. The few switches that do exist are
right where they should be, because there's plenty of room on the
dashboard for controls and amenities that will only come decades
later. This stunning example of the British MG TC has undergone a
no-expense-spared, meticulous body-off restoration. A very tidy
classic British roadster that is finished in a classic British
Racing Green over a fabulous Biscuit coloured leather interior.
Powered by a 1,250cc 4-cylinder engine with 4-speed manual
transmission. All paint, chrome, brightwork, upholstery and trim
show famously. Notable features include a folding windscreen, turn
signals, electric wipers, driver side-view mirror, dash-mounted
rearview mirror, chrome exhaust tip, front and rear bumper over
riders, and full original instrumentation. The car rides on
original wheels with original polished hubcaps, plus a matching
trunk-mounted spare. MG delivers a pure British driving experience
and this TC is an exceptional example. This car runs beautifully
and is a joy to drive. The cleanliness of the undercarriage
displays the high level of care provided by its previous MG
enthusiast owner. Everything from the wooden frame, to the brake
and fuel lines, suspension components, horns and steering
components are in all in excellent condition and show to a very
high standard. For more information, or to discuss delivery
