For sale in our Chicago showroom is a shimmering 1957 Chevrolet 210
with Bel Air trim. This gorgeous machine is perhaps the most iconic
vehicle of all time and for very good reason. After the war
Americans were reintroduced with essentially the same types of
vehicles that ceased production in 1942 and it wasn't until the
late '40's and early '50's that style began to play a part in the
home and on the street. In meeting with consumer demand Ed Cole who
was the Chief Engineer at General Motors initiated a series of
changes to the final Tri-Five and created automotive history. Due
to the availability of several modern options as well as tall-fin
styling, ample chrome trim and luxurious interior upholstery the
'57 was dubbed the "Baby Cadillac". This beauty started life as a
210 but in lieu of keeping with the more drab body panels a Bel Air
stainless flair was added and compliments the rest of the exterior
trim including the California-styled front bumper and rear bumper
with license plate bracket. The Sierra Gold paint just shimmers
under any light and looks great in contrast with the tan top and
matching tan interior. The front bench seat and all matching
interior trim have received a great deal of work and restoration
that makes this car non only stunning to look at but a pleasure to
sit in and drive. The addition of power steering help to maneuver
this beauty into any parking area. Under the hood you will see the
classic 350 Cubic Inch V8 that starts up without hesitation and
runs strong. The ultra-reliable 700R4 transmission shifts nice and
smooth and will get this beauty up to highway speed without
hesitation. This has received a full frame-off restoration complete
with an engine rebuild with roughly 11,000 miles. If you have been
on the hunt for a classic that needs nothing more than a turn of
the key and captain behind the wheel this may be the one for you.
