For sale in our Chicago showroom is this 1999 Pontiac Firebird.
Powered by the 346 cubic inch LS1 V8 that has been making waves
since its first introduction in the '97 Corvette and shifted by the
T-56 6-speed manual transmission that is known to be quite the
bulletproof unit, this vehicle was a potent performer as GM
designed it. Enter SLP, and the Firehawk is born. In '99, 719
Firehawks were produced, but only 622 made their way into the
United States. Built on Coupes, T-top cars, and convertibles, there
are certainly some examples more rare than others. There was a
total of only 150 Black T-top Trans-Ams produced with the SLP
Firehawk conversion in '99, and there are certainly less than that
still remaining. Having only traveled just over 15,000 actual miles
on the optional Chrome Wheels, this example is almost brand new.
The only modification is a set of Eibach lowering springs, which
work very well the with optional Bilstien suspension package. Since
day 1, this vehicle has been owned by the same adult, and has never
been abused. The Optional SLP floor mats were only put in the
vehicle for show purposes, and never used for driving. In between
shows, and during the winter months, the vehicle was kept in a
garage with the optional SLP car cover keeping the car clean. Once
the weather warms up, though, this bad bird is ready for action.
Jumping in the driver's seat is more like stepping into a cockpit.
Turn the key and request for immediate departure. Throw the shifter
into 1st and throw yourself back in the seat with just the blip of
a throttle. This future classic is sure to go up in value, as
Pontiac is no more, the Firebird will never be made again, and thus
the Firehawk has become extinct. Options include: Air-Conditioning,
AM/FM/CD, T-top, Cruise Control, Power Brakes, Power Steering,
