For sale in our Chicago showroom is a 1973 Mustang Mach 1. The Mach
1 was available on the Sports Roof Mustang in 1973 and the body
style along with the Mach 1 moniker and flat black hood stripe is a
favorite amongst collectors and muscle car enthusiasts. Originally
equipped with a 302 V8 this car has been pepped up with a 429 that
has that unmistakable big block growl. With only 7,000 miles on the
engine and much less on a full transmission overhaul this car is
ready to hit the open road. The interior appears to be original and
well preserved and the mileage of 93,325 could be the original. You
may be seeing a lot of Mach 1s out on the road but one with a fresh
429 is truly what sets this car apart. The '73 Mustangs were never
particularly high-performers in factory trim, as they had gained
quite a bit of weight since their inception almost a decade prior.
Coupled with the added heft, the oil crisis caused tightening
emissions and choked down the powerhouses of the 60s. The previous
owner solved all of those problems when they fitted the monster 7.0
liter V8 making the extra few pounds barely noticeable. This give
the new owner the best of both worlds; a larger mustang to stretch
out in, with all the power needed to get it up to speed with a
smile on your face. Options on this pony include an AM/FM radio
with CD player, power steering, power brakes, seat belts and full
vinyl interior. There are a lot of Mustangs on the road today but
this one is sure to turn some heads. The transmission was just
completely rebuilt less than a year ago and this car also has new
brakes, brake lines and a new alternator. Located in our Chicago
showroom, this 1973 Mustang Mach 1 can be seen including an HD
