showroom. The Impala has been Chevrolets full size car since its
inception in 1958. The car did OK its first few years but not until
61 with the addition of the SS option did many in the car world
take note. Yet it was not until 1965 and the new more profound
styling did the Impala catch on with the true Muscle car guys. The
SS package, though available with a 6 cylinder, pretty much put at
the very least a small block under the hood. Naturally some people
a 327 would not be enough but with the optional 396 the Impala
became a viable weapon on the street. This 66 is a great example of
what these cars were like right out of the showroom. The engine is
the original numbers matching motor that it left the factory with
in 1966. Upgraded today with a bigger carb and less restrictive
intake manifold this big block is running better than new. The 4
speed Muncie is original to the car and feels great with a close
and smooth pattern just like it was intended. The exterior is fresh
out of the paint booth with a touch brighter red than factory. If
you want a car that is quiet and blends in with the crowd you may
want to keep looking. The rally wheels are fresh as well giving the
outside a fresh look. The inside also had quite a bit of extensive
work done as well. With brand new door panels and a freshly cleaned
carpet the interior shows extremely well. The bucket seats are
great with the center console housing the 4 speed shifter this is
