This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 is for sale in our Louisville KY
showroom. The Ford Galaxie was a full size car built by Ford from
1959 to 1974. The name was used from 59 to 61 with 62 being the
first year with the "500" and "500/XL" denoting the higher series.
The restoration of this American iron was done years and the
current owner has inherited the car. The car still looks good but
does show evidence that it was driven and enjoyed and driven. The
unique striping gives the paint an extra pop without being
obnoxious. Before we talk about the muscle under the hood, let's
talk about the hood. It is a fiberglass hood with a raise tear drop
center. The back of the teardrop has a messed opening to allow in
as much fresh air as possible. The hood is lighter than a steel
hood and used to reduce weight for drag racing. The hood lets
people know this Galaxie means business! This 64 is originally a
390 V8 car from the factory, but a little work has been done on the
engine and the current owner was told it now displaces 406 cubic
inches. Rebuilt and gone through during the restoration process
this FE big block will get this piece of American steel moving down
the road rather nicely. The 3 speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission is
controlled with the floor mounted shifter that will make you take a
double. It had us fooled as we thought at first this Galaxie has
4-speed manual. Take a peek inside and you will see an interior
that has been tastefully redone. The silver piping accents the
black and looks as if it should be there. If you are looking for
that week end toy that is a bit different, but still has that
classic 60's look, then look no further and become the proud owner
of this American piece of automotive history. Options on this 1964
Ford Galaxie 500 includes; power steering, manual brakes, AM/FM
radio with Cassette Player, seat belts, steel wheels with Chrome
Baby Moon hub caps shod with radial Tires. This 1964 Ford Galaxie
