This 1980 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Tribute is for sale in our
Louisville KY showroom. 1980 was a rough year for the U S and
especially the auto industry. With 30% of cars being imported from
Japan alone things were not looking to good. Maybe if the 80 Z28
were built like this one more people would have gone the American
way. The looks department Chevrolet nailed it as you can tell the
long hood line with its rounded recess head lights give it very
sleek almost European look. The bottom chin spoiler but gives the
car a much lower appearance while the side louvers give it some
edge. The fresh white paint with the black racing stripes offset it
all nicely. All of this is typical Z28 but when you pop the hood
the previous statement starts to show itself. The tall black valve
covers are your first hint of this not so stock small block. The
headers just below it only feed the suspicion. Take off the air
cleaner and the stout 650 Quick Fuel carb has pretty much give it
away but not until the turn of the key does all suspicion cease.
With the flowmaster exhaust rumbling and the loping idle due to the
bigger cam you say to yourself, this is what the Z28 should have
been. The now 355 CID small block is the perfect balance of power
and reliability. The TH350 transmission works really well with this
set up making smooth shifts from 1st to 2dn and all the way into
3rd gear. The built posi rear end is sure to give you the best
burnouts when leaving that next car show. Open the door and the
black interior looks as if it was new, that's because it is. All of
the seats have been redone with the period correct black vinyl
while the new carpet finishes it all off nicely. All of this show
and go is nice but if it rides like Model A you won't be too happy.
The brand new shocks give it a better ride quality than if it is
was new. These late edition 2nd gen F bodies have seen a huge jump
in popularity and with this one being the cleanest one I have seen
I could not imagine it lasting too long. Options in this 1980
Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Tribute include; AM/FM/Cassette, Power
Steering, Power Brakes, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior and Rally Wheels
