Up for sale in the Houston showroom is one phenomenal Ford, the
1928 Ford Model A Business Coupe. First produced on October 20,
1927, but not sold until December 2, it replaced the venerable
Model T, which had been produced for 18 years. The Model A was the
first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls with
conventional clutch and brake pedals, throttle, and gearshift.
Prices for the Model A ranged from $385 for a roadster to $1400 for
the top-of-the-line Town Car. Normally the engine was a
water-cooled L-head inline 4-cylinder with a displacement of 201 cu
in. This engine provided 40 hp. Top speed was around 65 mph, well
that has been changed up quite a bit with the addition of.a tough
little 305 smallblock Chevy engine topped with a full Edelbrock
intake and carb. Backing the engine is turbo hydramatic 350 3 speed
automatic transmission. A 9" Ford put the s power to the pavement.
Suspension has ungone a heck of a change as well with the addition
of the Mustang II front suspension and coil overs in the rear.
Front disk brakes and huge rear drums keeps this bad boy whoad down
when needed. Lathered in the a gorgeous cream with color matched
