The NHRA or National Hot Rod Association was established in 1951.
Its main purpose was to get the races off of the streets and onto
the tracks, where hot rodders could go head-to-head on two lanes
and prove who truly had the fastest ride. Now the NHRA is one of
the greatest sponsors in the drag racing community and keeps the
passion of racing alive. For a couple of years Pontiac only
produced 892 of the special edition NHRA Trans Am that featured
badges and some mechanical difference setting it apart from most
other Pontiacs on the road. This special edition Trans Am is 1 of
only 136 with the 6-speed manual in 2002 and has seen many of
modifications from factory. The LS1 engine has seen some
modifications that have really awaken this car. With a custom grind
camshaft, Competition Cams pushrods, and Ovate Beehive valve
springs, this car put down 406 Rear Wheel Horse Power. Letting all
of this power breathe is a set of Hooker headers and exhaust. All
of the engine work was professionally done and has over $10,000 in
receipts to prove it. Planting that much power to the ground could
be an issue for most cars, but this special edition Trans Am does
not just have extra power it can stick it to the pavement as well.
Suspension upgrades included new control arms, Spohn strut tower
brace, torque arm with a drive shaft loop, panhard bar, as well as
front and rear sway bars. This car is ready to tear up the drag
strip and lay down some very respectable times and then drive back
home to park in the garage or to the local cruise night to show it
off. This vehicle is located in our Milwaukee showroom. You can
