For sale is a 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z/28 Convertible located
in our Indianapolis showroom. You are probably saying to yourself
"Chevrolet didn't make a Camaro convertible in 1986" and you would
be right. General Motors sanctioned a company called Auto Form to
do convertible conversions on both Firebirds and Camaros from 1983
to 1986. The conversions were performed at two different
facilities: one in Elkhart, Indiana and the other in Shawnee,
Oklahoma. The conversion took about two weeks and an estimated cost
of $5,500. Auto Form worked directly with participating dealerships
and did not accept customers off the street. New cars were drop
shipped to one of their facilities and then delivered to the dealer
for delivery to the customer. Year by year production is not known
but its believed that around 600 total cars received the conversion
between 1983 and 1986 including both Firebirds and Camaros, making
this one a rare find especially in this great of condition. This
1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z/28 Convertible is powered by its
original 305 CID TPI V8 engine and is backed by a 700R4 4-speed
automatic transmission. Chevrolet introduced the IROC Z/28 as an
optional package in 1985 which included a lowered ride height with
Bilstein shocks, upgraded suspension, larger sway bars and a
steering frame brace nicknamed the "Wonder Bar". This '86 IROC is
equipped with the optional "TPI" Tuned-Port Injection borrowed from
