of a kind 1 of 1 2005 Ford Mustang Yankee GT! Built in 2005 to be a
contest prize during the Yankees game on June 9th, 2005. During
this time when Ford had introduced the new body style Mustang, Ford
had designed 60 Mustangs donning the new 4.0L V6, and were given to
the team and managers. However, only ONE V8 was created and given
off as a prize during the game. Secondary to the car, Derek Jeter
had also personally autographed the dashboard, only adding to the
value with Jeter entering the 3000 hits club, 5 Gold Gloves, 5
Championships, World Series MVP and 14 All-Star Appearances. With
only 3,602 miles on the odometer, this Mustang is still entirely a
collector vehicle. To start, the Mustang is a 2005 Mustang GT,
complete with the newly introduced 4.6l 24v engine, capable of 310
horsepower and roughly 280 lb/ft of torque, this new body style was
brought to be a complete throwback to the now legendary 1969
Mustang body style, with the large grille and fastback styled rear
end. Mated to the engine is a 5-speed with overdrive transmission,
also redesigned to incorporate more electronic shifting to allow
for smoother, yet more precise shifting during heavy acceleration,
and extremely smooth shifting while driving down the interstate.
The cars computer began to adapt to the individual driver during
this generation, so if you come with a lead foot, the computer
begins to optimize the engine timing, fuel management and
transmission shifting to accomodate for heavy throttle, and
likewise for the average daily drivers. These cars were engineered
to bring the muscle car era back from the smooth egg shaped cars of
the 90's and this particular one was iconicized with the Yankee
pinstripes and logo to remain a truly one of a kind machine.
