In the early 1990s Porsche was struggling and in need of a fresh
new car to help turn things around. Their answer was the
introduction of the Boxster in 1996. The car featured a sleek
roadster design, reminiscent of the Porsche Speedster. With the
Boxster's small platform, powerful engine and excellent handling
the car quickly became popular. It's widely believed the Boxster
played a significant role in saving Porsche. A redesigned 911
debuted in 1998 featuring similar front end styling and interior as
the Boxster, helping further the resurgence of the company.
This 2000 Porsche Boxster is presented in silver with a red leather
interior, a color combination which was utilized at the
introduction of the vehicle. The car is powered by a flat
six-cylinder engine which is paired to a five-speed manual
transmission. Power equipment includes locks, windows, convertible
top, steering and brakes. The interior is completed in red leather
with black accents and features air conditioning, cruise control
and a factory radio.
