Porsche introduced the 944 in 1982 as a step up from the
entry-level 924. It featured a more powerful engine and well as
improved handling with a near 50/50 weight distribution. In 1985
Porsche released a turbocharged variant of the 944. The increase in
power brought the 944's performance close to that of the 911.
Through the years numerous automotive professionals have claimed
the 944 is one of the most balanced sports cars. Porsche produced
the 944 through the 1991 model year at which point it was replaced
by the 968.
This 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo is presented in black featuring a
sunroof and optional painted Fuchs wheels. The car is powered by a
2.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine which is paired to a
five-speed manual transmission. The interior is completed in gray
leather featuring air conditioning, cruise control as well as an
aftermarket JVC radio unit. In 1988 Porsche produced less than
4,100 examples of the 944 Turbo.
