Vehicle Description
The Honda Civic Hybrid was a variation of the Honda Civic with a
hybrid electric powertrain. Honda introduced the Civic Hybrid in
Japan in December 2001. In the United States, it was the first
hybrid automobile to be certified as an Advanced Technology Partial
Zero-Emissions Vehicle (AT-PZEV) from the California Air Resources
Board (CARB). The Civic Hybrid uses an Integrated Motor Assist
hybrid system similar to that of the Honda Insight. Early models
from 2001 to 2005 used a 5-speed manual transmission, whereas later
models feature a continuously variable automatic transmission. For
the second generation which started in 2006, some changes were made
including.
Updated to fourth generation Integrated Motor Assist (IMA)
A more powerful electric motor of 20 hp (15 kW)
158.4 V (132 x 1.2 V) Nickel-metal hydride batteries with 5.5 Ah
capacity that is 12% smaller.
Updated to three stage i-VTEC and VCM (Variable Cylinder
Management), which permits deactivation of all four cylinders when
cruising at moderate speed to run on electric power only. Engine
output is increased to 93 hp (69 kW) at 6,000 rpm and maximum
torque to 89 ftlb at 4,500 rpm.
The combined output of both engine and c motor is 110 hp (82 kW) at
6,000 rpm. Maximum torque is rated 123 ftlb at 2,500 rpm. A new
hybrid compressor for the air conditioner. The continuous variable
transmission provides a 9% wider range between the maximum and
minimum gear ratios for better acceleration and reduced engine rpm
at high speeds.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid.
This 2-owner Civic remains in great shape with a very nice Gray
exterior as well as a gray and dark blue interior to match the
exterior, that has held up tremendously over the miles this Civic
has driven. With all of the electronics still functioning including
the optioned GPS, this car has plenty of miles to go. One of the
main concerns people seem to have when it comes to the Hybrids is
the battery life and this one had the batteries replaced before the
older ones were going bad. The amazing gas mileage and ride are the
two biggest sellers for this car and with being able to average
around 45 mpg this car will have no problem getting you where you
need to go.
