This 1966 Chevy II L79 Nova is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The L79 327/350 HP was one of the mightiest small block motors that GM produced. Available and developed primarily for the Corvette this motor would go on to be a staple in the Hotrod community. In 1966 Chevy had a little known code at the bottom of the Chevy II ordering pad L79. You marked that box and that box alone wait a couple weeks for delivery and you would have one of the most underrated cars to ever leave the factory. This rare Chevy II is what many would consider a true sleeper. The outside looks like any typical 66 Nova with its light blue paint appearing almost a shade of silver. The clearcoat is thick and shows little in the way of degration. With the panel fitment being of the highest level this 66 is one for the ages. A lot of people say its clean enough to eat off of but this one is. With the original style battery set back under the hood and a host of other things from the manifolds to the aircleaners this 66 is as if just roller onto the floor. The Muncie M20 transmission is exactly what you should expect in one of these rare little coupes as an automatic just was not available. Naturally the rear end would have to be the best and the best at that time was a 12 bolt Posi unit giving the L79 one of the most durable drivetrains around. Open the door and you quickly notice the strangest part of this L79, it’s a bench seat car. Though most L79’s were ordered with the SS option giving them buckets and a console this II was ordered as simple and basic as possible. With the current owner having this baby for 18 years and only having a believed to be less than 60000 miles on the odometer this car went from are to “you just don’t find”.
