For Sale: 1971 Chevrolet Corvette in Lake Wylie, South Carolina

Vehicle Description

For those who are drawn to the styling cues of the chrome bumper “Shark” Corvettes, appreciate the road handling dexterity unique to small block Corvettes, and want exceptional performance, the model of choice is unquestionably the LT1 Corvette. These are the small block Corvettes that deliver big block acceleration while being able to handle a road course like the best European competitors. Only available from 1970 thru 1972, the LT1 Corvettes are coveted by Corvette aficionados because they offer the zenith of performance and handling in the C3 Corvette and out of a 3 year production of 66,121 Corvettes only 4,977 (approximately 7.5%) had the LT1 option. These are the last of the legendary solid lifter Corvettes. This 1971 Millie Miglia LT1 convertible is an especially rare Corvette. Out of a total 1971 production of 21,800, only 1,949 were built with the LT1 engine option. Less then 10% of the production were painted Millie Miglia Red and less then 10% were built as convertibles. By extrapolation, it may be estimated  this is 1 of 20 1971 Millie Miglia LT1 Corvette convertibles.

The 1971 Mille Miglia Red, with Black interior and White soft top, LT1 convertible, being offered for sale, is powered by a 350ci V8, with a compression ratio of 9.0:1, producing 330 hp @ 5600 rpm and 360ft.lbs. of torque @ 4000 rpm and has the M21 close ratio 4-Speed manual transmission. Press the peddle to the floor, take it up near red line, run through the gears, and you know you’re behind the wheel of a truly awesome sports car. There are Corvettes and there are special Corvettes. The C3 LT1 Corvettes clearly are among the very special Corvettes.

Here is a very original 1971 LT1 Corvette convertible, with its original drive train, excellent body fit, correctly dated window glass, power brakes, power steering and tilt-telescopic steering column. There are just 14,000 miles on a complete rebuild of the entire drive train and suspension. The rebuild included:  A-arms,  bushings,  wheel bearings, calipers, rotors, backing plates, tie rods, ball joints, shocks, drive shaft,  trailing arms, bearings, backing plates, shims, half shafts, shocks and a new rear spring. The steering column has been completely rebuilt. This is a LT1 Corvette that needs absolutely nothing to be enthusiastically driven and thoroughly enjoyed. The car comes with its Corvette Order Copy  (Tank Sheet) and NCRS Shipping Data Report.

1971 LT1 Corvettes convertibles, in the head turning color combination of Mille Miglia Red, Black and White and presenting in the outstanding condition of this car are truly rare, stand out from the crowd, and will always be valued and sought after by true Corvette enthusiasts who recognize the significance of the 1970-1972 LT1 Corvettes in the evolution of Corvette performance.
