For Sale: 1964 Pontiac Bonneville in Alpharetta, Georgia

Vehicle Description

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, 1964 PONTIAC BONNEVILLLE CONVERTIBLE, FRAME OFF RESTORED, NICELY EQUIPPED, 389 TRI-POWER READY TO SHOW AND GO!!

Allow me to introduce you to Big Bonnie. Yes, she's a big girl but she sure is beautiful and loves to get out on the road on a sunny day and go cruising. I recently acquired this sweet Tuxedo Black 1964 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible from a collector in Virginia who had purchased it from another collector out of Florida. The frame off restoration was completed by the collector in Florida about 5 years ago and there have been about 1500 miles put on her since. The gentleman I purchased it from had a nice collection but due to some health issues was in the process of selling off most of his cars. He enjoyed driving this '64 and told me he drove it to 3 shows last summer and won trophies each time. While she certainly is beautiful she was built to be driven and not trailered. This is believed to be a low original mileage car with just under 89,700 miles and still has the original 389 V8 that was rebuilt and upgraded with a correct Tri-power system. She is very nicely loaded with options and is an original Tuxedo Black car. She is a pleasure to drive and fits the whole family comfortably in her beautiful fully restored red interior. I will do my best to provide you with enough large images, a video so you can hear her start up and running, and an honest description to help you decide if Big Bonnie should be in your garage. As with all of my classics I do have her listed on my website and several others. If you decide you want to scoop her up before the next car guy or gal does, feel free to give me a call at 770-359-8400 to discuss how we can make that happen. I welcome overseas buyers and I am also a licensed transport broker and can get you great rates on enclosed transport anywhere in the country. Sit back and enjoy!!

This big bodied '64 Bonneville Convertible wears her tuxedo black paint color with grace and style. According to the previous owner, he was told that a full frame off restoration was completed about 5 years ago. Her body is extremely nice, not perfect, but definitely worthy of the local shows and cruise-ins. They repainted her in the original tuxedo black color and did a great job using base coat/clear coat. As you will see in the pics that follow she has lots of luster and plenty of shine. Body panels are very straight overall although there are a few minor ripples upon close inspection. Body panel fit is fantastic and doors open and shut with ease. All of the chrome and stainless looks fantastic. All of the weatherstripping was replaced at time of restoration. All of the glass looks great and power windows function nicely. Front grille with the stacked headlights looks awesome.

Big Bonnie loves to go topless but it is also nice to know that she looks pretty darn sweet with her top up too. The top was replaced at the time of restoration and looks great. Of course it is a power top and works nicely. When you drop the top, which hopefully is most of the time, there is a brand new red boot cover that snaps on an looks great.

Complimenting the gorgeous tuxedo black exterior is an equally impressive red interior that was also completely redone and looks like new. Front and rear bench seats are extremely comfortable and will bring back those ole days when your honey or kids were able to sit right up against you while you cruise around. Door panels and carpeting look fantastic.  The original steering wheel is in great condition with just a touch of wood trim that compliments the wood trim along the dash. The gauges in the dash all look great and appear to be working correctly. Even the clock is working although I am not sure if it keeps accurate time. The previous owner did add aftermarket gauges under the dash to monitor oil pressure and water temperature. The radio turns on but I do not believe it is working. The power antenna does work. Power windows work nicely.  Tilt steering column functions well. The blower fan works but is a little noisy. All of the courtesy lights in the dash and in the rear panels are working. As you will see the interior is stunning and ready for the shows!!

You will be proud to pop the hood and show off Big Bonnies engine bay at the local shows and cruise-in events. Under the hood sits the original 389 V8 that was completely rebuilt according to the previous owner with about 1500 miles on it since then. Total original mileage as listed on the title is just under 89,700 and is believed to be correct. At the time of the rebuild it was also nicely upgraded with the optional Tri-power triple carburetor system. The original 17M coded motor was rated at 283 horsepower and with the tri-power system is probably over 300hp. This motor also has the correct casting number of 9773345 on the heads. The automatic transmission is believed to be original and shifts out beautifully. Power steering makes handling Big Bonnie a breeze and power brakes were completely redone and work great. She is a cruiser, not a racer, and she glides along the road and gets up to speed with ease. Nice tone from the dual exhaust thanks in part to the mild sounding glass pack mufflers. Suspension is nice and tight and shocks were replaced all around. Rear shocks are air shocks to allow you to change the stance a bit if desired. Smooth ride thanks to a nice set of radial white wall tires mounted on original wheels with the knock off style hub caps. She runs nice and cool with no overheating issues and is ready to hit the road and drive and enjoy. Make sure you watch and listen to the video that follows the pics below to heat this '64 start up and running.

The undercarriage was nicely detailed at the time of restoration and was painted in an orange color and clear coated for easy cleaning. The floor pans and frame rails all look excellent with no rust or signs of previous rust repair. Inside of the trunk also looks great and is dressed out with trunk mat. It appears that the center portion of the trunk pan may have been replaced with the correct stamped metal but was done well. Original spare and jack are also in place.

Asking price is $36,500 and serious buyers can call me at 770-359-8400.
