1956 Mercedes-Benz 220a with Webasto Sunroof - 6-cyl. 2195cc/92hp 2bb. Recently out of long term storage in a private collection this is a remarkably clean solid example. Purchased in the early 1990s, the car was driven regularly until 2004 when the master cylinder seized, but continued to be started regularly until 2012 when other priorities surfaced. New break lines were added in the late 1990s which should be noted, as well as should it be purchased before the master cylinder is repaired, it is included with a NOS rebuild kit.
Pictures note some sun damage to the top of the rear seat and deteoriation of the headliner in places while in storage, however it has great potential, especially with the distinctive Webasto Sunroof. While most pontons are the 190 series - the Six Cylinder 220 are a rare 'upgraded' series and with the wide sunroof, and column shift - and we think this would be a wonderful 'survivor'.
As the state of Connecticut will not issue titles, on antique automobiles this 220A is being sold on a bill of sale.
