Vehicle Description

Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale January 19th - 22nd, 2017 at Russo and Steele's 17th Annual Scottsdale Arizona Auction at the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. Please contact us for more information. 1969 Ford Torino Talladega was produced by Ford in January and February 1969. Named for the famed NASCAR racetrack that opened that year, the Talladega was created to dominate the race circuit. Only 745 vehicles were produced to qualify as production models. Special body modifications include extended front nose, flush mount grill, front bumper was actually a modified rear torino bumper, rerolled rocker panels allowing the car to be lowered 1 and still meet the minimum ground clearance for NASCAR. Rear shock mounts were cut out and remounted in a staggered configuration to increase traction. This car was so dominate that Richard Petty left Mopar to drive one. This is the car that started the Aero Wars in NASCAR. Dodge and Plymouth responded the following year with the Daytona 500 and Superbird. This is one of the rarest big block 60's muscle cars you can own. This car has undergone complete rebuild of 428CJ and C6 automatic. New interior was installed and the car painted Grabber Blue. Engine and Trans have less than 500 miles on rebuild.
