1936 Packard Eight Model 1401
This Classic is an original unrestored survivor of one of the finest automobiles produced in America during the Great Depression The paint is original registering .05 to 3.0 mills.
Purchased new by Mrs. Josephine Durezo in Big Rapids, Michigan.
About 1950, a Packard dealer named Art Schuberg heard of a 1936 Packard stored in a barn on a farm east of town. The owner, Ole Anderson, wanted a more modern automobile, so the Packard became a trade-in for a new vehicle. As it turned out, this Classic was original, absolutely complete and the odometer registered 39,000 miles.
In 1953, Art Schuberg died, and the Packard dealership was sold except for the 1936 Packard. It
was stored and covered in the family garage in Michigan. It was rarely driven except for parades and special events.
In 1979, the car was inherited by Art Schuberg's son,
Charles and was shipped to California where it was covered and stored for many years. In 1995, Charles Schuberg and Eric Voigt spent two years freshening up the Packard.
Since then this timeless classic has had two other owners, being stored most of the time, and driven on special occasions.
