Our 1960 American is the top of the line Custom. It came with a
195.6 cu in. (3.2L) overhead valve engine with a 8.7:1 compression
ratio that produced 37 more Hp. than the 1959 model. The power
plant put out a total of 125 Hp. Unique is the fact that this
Flathead 6 cyl. has no visible Intake Manifold since it was
integrated within the cylinder head. The radical design of the 1958
through 1960 was mandated by the then parent company Nash. The
style was called Airflyte this styling was predicated to represent
the optimism of Post World War 2 transportation. In 1960 Tom
MaCahill writing for Mechanix Illustrated said There is not a
better car buy in the world today. This car was a workhorse with a
chic look. These cars are truly becoming the new collectable. Our
American is very complete. Currently restoring the interior new
carpet door panels and seats. �Ours will come with 2 good front
