For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a show winning 1968 Chevrolet Camaro. The custom restoration was completed 2 years ago, and has under 100 miles on it. This amazing 68' Camaro began its life as a 6 cylinder optioned Camaro in Oklahoma. At some point between 1968 and 1981 the first owner replaced it with a 350 CID V8. The current and second owner bought the car in 1981 while in Oklahoma, and drove it as a daily driver until he moved back to St. Louis in 1983. The car then became a weekend and beautiful day toy, while being stored in the garage when not used. In 2006 the car was taken to a high end restoration shop for a complete rotisserie restoration. Eight short years later the Camaro emerged out of the shop to what you see today. A Ram Jet 350 CID V8 now powers this monster, it is mated to a 4L60e transmission, with a Ford 9" rear end out back. Stainless steel exhaust run the length of the car and out of the old reverse lights for a nice custom/molded look. There was not a lot of body work needed, as this classic Camaro spent a good portion of its life in the dry climate of Oklahoma, and while it was in the Midwest it was only taken out of the garage on nice sunny days. The paint on this Camaro is nearly flawless. It is a beautiful bright blue with white stripes, the white stripes are outlined by a thin burnt orange line. The orange accent line matches the brake calipers, which is a nice piece of coordination on the builder's part. A custom leather interior, including bucket seats front and rear, a one piece headliner, and a full length console, has been installed and looks phenomenal. The beige leather is so soft it feels like touching a cloud. Speaking of a cloud, Air Ride suspension has also been installed, it provides 2 heights, parked and driving. This way there is no confusion or guessing, and the best look is achieved while safety is insured. The stance of this beautiful build is further perpetuated via the 20" rear wheels (mini tub was required) and 18" front wheels, that are wrapped in 335/30/20 and 245/40/18 respectively. This is a professionally built Camaro, all the work was performed by well known builders with friends in high places. Since the build was complete in 2014, this Camaro has won over a dozen awards, ranging from Best Camaro, Best Interior, to Grand Champion/Best in Show. This Camaro will not disappoint.
