Vehicle Description
Vintage Autohaus and Imports is proud to present this 1955 Pontiac
Star Chief Hardtop. The Star Chief originated in Texas and spent
most of its life there. The car went through a frame off
restoration starting in 1990 and was completed in 1992. The
restoration was done to original specification and the car was
showcased on the cover of the January 1993 issue of Car & Parts
Magazine. Pictures of the restore, documents, and magazine come
with the car. The car was shown until 1997 were it was parked and
put away. In 2007 the car was sold to the new owner. At this time
the engine was replaced with a GM Performance crate 350 and a 700R4
transmission. It has since then had added Dakota Digital shift
indicator with neutral safety switch, Southern Air heat and air
system that is cold, Aluminum Radiator. The interior is in great
condition with no tears or rips. The dash gauges are in original
style and are working. The undercarriage is very solid with no
rust. The original 4 drum braking system is in great condition and
stops easily. The paint was redone during the restore and still
shows well with some small checking. All of the chrome is bright
and was redone with no pitting. This car drives great with comfort
and ease. We invite independent inspections and also look at
trades.
