Vehicle Description
Stk. 2221 1968 GMC Pickp
A '60s short-bed GM pick-up with its solid undercarriage, roomy cab
and plenty of space under the hood is a natural candidate for a
street rod. This 1968 GMC ton was fully restored and modified in
2016. Virtually every nut and bolt is new. The builder chose Cherry
Red for the exterior, maintained the massive chrome front
grille/bumper and deleted the rear bumper assembly entirely. The
result is a great looking 'shorty' with a bed that utilizes custom
oak planks for flooring. That said, this modified pick-up is all
about the performance delivered from a strong, professionally built
drivetrain. Power comes from a rebuilt 2004 GM 6.0L that has
experienced significant upgrades. It now breathes through an
Edelbrock Victor Jr. single-plane cast aluminum intake with 800cfm
Holley. Fire comes from an MSD ignition. A Lunati Voodoo hydraulic
roller cam (.651/.651) works new rollers and springs in GM243
aluminum heads and exhaust gases exit through tube headers into a
free-flow system. Cooling is handled by an aluminum radiator,
clutch fan and serpentine belt set-up. The powerplant is backed by
a new Cooks 400 automatic w/3200 stall converter that drives a
12-bolt differential (3.73:1) with Moser axles. The fully detailed
chassis has been upgraded with new front ball joints/bushings,
power steering and power disc/drum brakes (new dual master,
calipers, rotors and brake lines). Twenty-inch 'Foose' alloy wheels
mount Nexen HP radials. The retro-classic cab is enhanced with a
nicely reupholstered rolled and pleated black vinyl seat. Dashboard
and door panels have matching vinyl accents and the custom
instrument panel houses a full set of Marshall Performance gauges.
A street-rod shifter, leather-wrapped wheel, Sony AM/FM/CD sound
system and new carpeting complete the interior package. This custom
pick-up is a real head-turner and a blast to drive. It belongs in
your garage. For more information, call 800-650-1055 or visit our
