Please contact us for more information. Throughout its long history, Chevrolet produced a succession of popular models that continue to form the backbone of today's classic-car culture. Of all, though, Chevy's wildly successful and handsomely designed 1955-1957 Shoebox models continue to rank at the top of the list. While certain Chevrolet enthusiasts prefer the subtle 1955 Chevrolet and others favor the more flamboyantly finned and trimmed 1957 models, many appreciate the 1956 Chevy line as the perfect balance of the two extremes. Deft stylistic tweaks for 1956 gave it a remarkably fresh and lighter appearance, while an ever-growing list of powertrain options and combinations added considerable substance to back up the sizzle. Thanks to Chevy's lightweight, compact, and powerful small-block V-8 and a high power-to-weight ratio, the V-8 powered 1956 Chevrolet models were rightly advertised as the Hot Ones. Produced along the entry-level 150 trim level to the mid-level 210 and top-of-the-line Bel Air model lines, a multitude of body styles was offered for virtually every customer need, including the 2-door Sedan Delivery, which was part of the 150 lineup. Only 7,441 were built for 1956 and they quickly began populating the hotly contested Junior Stock ranks on America's drag strips. They also formed an ideal basis for the growing numbers of high-performance street machines over the following decades. Quite rare when new and far more so over the intervening years due to their utilitarian nature, Chevrolet's 150 Sedan Delivery is a rare sight on the road today. This particular 1956 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery is an outstanding find, drenched in a black paint finish and equipped with plenty of chrome accents including the desirable California bumpers, grille, window surrounds, headlight covers, and stone guards. The interior features a very attractive combination of black trim offset with Lipstick Red upholstery and black carpeting. Interior features and options include sun visors, original flip-forward seats, an in-dash clock, AM/FM cassette stereo system, and a fully-carpeted rear deck. The legendary 265 cubic-inch small-block V-8 engine is well equipped with an Edelbrock intake manifold and carburetor and topped with a set of period Corvette-scripted finned aluminum valve covers. Power is transferred to a column-shifted 3-speed manual transmission for a great 1950s vibe. An upgraded suspension and Vredestein radial tires on staggered-diameter Boss chrome wheels contribute to this 1956 Chevrolet 150 Sedan Delivery's improved ride and handling characteristics and enjoyable cruising experience.
