The rarest of the rare, this classic low-mile 1980 BJ41 Toyota Land Cruiser is an RHD example in original, well-maintained condition. It was built and lived in Nagoya, the home of Toyota, SW of Tokyo until it was shipped to its new home in Scottsdale during late 2015 by its current owner. A truly unique classic with a provenance to surpass most in the world, this sport-ute was driven by Top Gear's James May up to the 6th station of Mount Fuji in James May's Cars of the People, Season 2 Episode 2, which aired in January 2016, to commemorate the original trek in 1951 up Mount Fuji by Toyota's test driver, Ichiro Taira, that began the legacy of the storied global Land Cruiser line. The current owner, an American CEO who owns and runs a company in Tokyo and splits his time between Japan and his home in Scottsdale, purchased the LC from its original owner, a Japanese gentleman farmer in Nagoya. Southwest of Tokyo, Nagoya is in a temperate part of Japan in the middle of the country, with a climate similar to Texas, and also is the home of Toyota. The LC was repainted by its Japanese owner in 2013 to match its original stock Sky Blue color 854. Color, VIN and frame numbers all match.
