Vehicle Description

Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale January 19th - 22nd, 2017 at Russo and Steele's 17th Annual Scottsdale Arizona Auction at the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. Please contact us for more information. Setting a new standard in hot-rod construction and enjoyment, the Factory Five '33 Roadster debuted at the high-profile 2008 SEMA show, where it earned Best in Show-Hot Rod and Best Engineered Product Runner-up. In 2012, the car won the GoodGuys National Autocross title in both Pro and Street classes and a Top 10 at SEMA that same year. In its short life, the Factory Five '33 Roadster design has garnered many awards and industry recognition as the mark of excellence. The classically styled composite body is made of hand-laid vinylester fiberglass. With its one-piece construction and 3/16, 0.188 uniform thickness, it provides exceptional resilience compared with steel bodies of thinner 0.065/0.95 metal. The hood, authentic rear-hinged suicide doors, and the trunk lid all mount directly to the vehicle's steel chassis frame for lifetime rigidity. Wheelbase measures 112 inches. Construction and materials are CNC and CAD designed. A safety-designed tilting and collapsible steering column and side-mounted DOT door latches, tubular steel door frames, and welded driveshaft safety loops all provide maximum occupant protection in the event of an accident or failure. All lighting and latches are DOT-approved. Powering this 1933 Ford Factory Five Roadster is a very special, one-of-one 472 cubic-inch GM engine equipped with Feuling Center Fire cylinder heads. Providing 461 horsepower and 556 pounds-feet of sheer pavement-melting torque, the performance of this Factory Five '33 Roadster will match, or even overshadow that of many of today's quickest and fastest supercars. In addition to the Feuling Center Fire aluminum head technology, the 472 is equipped with an internally balanced 4340 steel crankshaft, H-beam steel rods and custom aluminum pistons, with spent gases eliminated by a stainless exhaust system. Dynamometer testing, break-in, and blueprinting were handled by Klein Engine Performance, the famed Phoenix, Arizona specialists in operation since 1974. Precise rack-and-pinion steering provides directional control and front underpinnings include an Indy Car-style cantilever independent coil suspension. The Yukon Gear and Axle 8.8-inch rear axle is located by a set of Koni rear coilovers with a race-proven 4-link setup. Stopping is achieved with disc brakes all around, including 11-inch rotors and two-piston aluminum calipers up front and 10-inch rotors with single-piston aluminum calipers bringing up the rear. A GM 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission sends the power from the wicked Feuling-equipped 472 to a balanced tubular steel driveshaft. As expected, performance is stunning with the 2,350-lb vehicle clocking 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds, the quarter-mile in an estimated 11.8 seconds, while capable of stopping from 60 mph in as little as 110 feet. A stunning performer with the classic hot rod looks to match, this Factory Five '33 Roadster is simply outstanding on all possible levels.
