Please contact us for more information. While Ford Motor Company launched an all-out and wildly successful assault on virtually every possible type of motor racing during the 1960s Total Performance years, the company's hardworking trucks and commercial vehicles were not overlooked. In fact, they were carefully improved, refined, and redesigned while Ford automobiles took checkered flags worldwide. Big news for 1964 was gained by the company's Styleside F-100 light-duty pickups, which were redesigned with separate cabs and cargo boxes, replacing the prior unibody pickups before them. The highly effective Twin I-Beam front suspension, exclusive to the light-duty 2WD F-Series trucks, arrived to acclaim for 1965 and delivered a softer ride and improved handling. A restyling of the F-Series for 1967 made these excellent pickups even more desirable than before and sales on the showroom confirmed the effectiveness of the redesign. While updates through 1970 were mostly detail-oriented, they made Ford's light-duty F-100 series pickups even better than before. Built at Ford's Los Angeles assembly plant and a Southwestern vehicle ever since, this 1970 Ford F-100 pickup truck is a captivating example throughout. Clearly benefiting from a restoration that was performed with virtually no possible expense spared, it features the exact same and very attractive two-tone Wimbledon White and Reef Blue paint combination as it did when it rolled off the production line more than 45 years ago. Among its many features, this F-100 retains its original door buck tag and it is equipped with power brakes, a radio, and a very inviting interior with the bench seat even including a central fold-down armrest. Plenty of useful power is delivered by a 360 'FE-Series' big-block V-8 engine mated to an automatic transmission for enjoyable driving. Importantly, the engine was rebuilt by Cornett Machine Shop in Somerset, Kentucky, the shop founded by the legendary Red Cornett, who worked closely with Ford and built many championship-winning racing engines over his storied career. Accompanying the F-100 at auction is a wealth of documentation and factory literature, including two original 1970 Ford Pickup Truck dealer brochures, an original 1970 paint color chart from PPG Industries, an original Ford 'White Sale' mailer outlining the 1970 model lineup, and two original Ford dealer truck marketing postcards. Beautifully restored and striking in presentation throughout, it stands as one of the finest classic F-Series Ford pickups of its generation and available today.
