Vehicle Description
This 1972 Chevy Camaro Z28 Tribute has just 3,443 miles on a
complete restoration. If you are looking for a fun and fast muscle
car, this car gets after it and is the personal car of our shop
manager who is a veteran master mechanic.
The engine is a 355 small block running a stout 11:1 compression.
It has Dart Sportsman heads with bronze guides and a competition
valve job. The Lunati Voodoo cam is a hydraulic roller setup, and
the intake is a powder coated Weiand Team G Single plane. The carb
is a very nicely tuned Holley Ultra HP 750 that is quite responsive
to throttle input. The car is an absolute blast to drive and make
wonderful power. With the monster Griffin aluminum radiator, the
car never even gets close to getting to hot, not even in the hot
Midwest summers.
The T56 Magnum transmission is a double overdrive set up, and pairs
up nicely with the 3.73 gearing housed inside a factory 10 bolt
housing. The clutch is a Centerforce, dual friction LT1 style
clutch with a Ram flywheel and Tipton hydraulic master
cylinder.
The suspension is nicely upgraded with QA1 coil overs, and McGaughy
dropped spindles. The brakes are power disc up front/drum in the
rear and work exceptionally well. Keeping body roll down is a set
of Hotchkis sway bars, and the upgraded Rocket wheels and modern
radial tires help out handling quite a bit.
