For Sale at Auction: 1955 Chrysler ST. REGIS in Scottsdale, Arizona

Vehicle Description

For 1955, Chrysler's models benefited from the full and unbridled stylistic touch of fast-rising designer Virgil Exner, who unleashed his famous "Forward Look" theme to great acclaim. Long, low, and equipped with the era's best engineering and luxurious features available, the top-line Chryslers trumped the competition and truly brought the once-stodgy marque to the forefront of the industry. While featuring such modern styling cues as fashionable wraparound windshields and cockpit-styled interiors, the entire Chrysler-model line exuded quality and sophistication that appealed to upwardly mobile and successful buyers. Roomy interiors, excellent passenger comfort, and uncannily quiet operation set Chrysler further beyond the rest of the American passenger-car field. Buyers took notice, with strong sales while most of its competing marques lost ground. Featuring great two-tone colors, this 1955 Chrysler St. Regis 2-door hardtop features 331ci HEMI V8 power, an automatic transmission and desirable items including, power brake, power steering, AM radio and chrome wires on wide whitewall tires. The headlights are quite interesting, with a smooth magnifying glass in their centers, and are virtually impossible for collectors to locate today. Continuing to benefit from a full, ground-up restoration, it has 48,754 miles (the title reads mileage exempt) and marks another wonderful offering from the Gordon Apker Collection.
