Vehicle Description
The Shelby Cobra is perhaps the purest expression of automotive
performance ever put on the streets. But when you look at the time,
money, and effort it takes to build your own, you'll realize how
much you really just want a quality Factory Five replica like this
one with a performance-built 306 V8 and an irresistible price.
Factory Five got the formula right - adding welcomed amounts of
room without taking away from the classic Cobra proportions. You'll
feel the difference the moment you sit behind the wheel, but more
on that in a moment. First, just marvel at the company's 20+ years
of fiberglass Cobra knowledge. They understand the gentle European
curves originally created by AC, and the aggressive fenders and
hood that Carroll Shelby needed to harness all that added power.
This body looks exceptional in deep metallic blue, and as the shine
rolls evenly across the whole car, you can instantly see the
quality that $8K invested in paint and body gets you. Plus, it also
gets the details right. The dual white stripes are an iconic touch;
the side pipes have the rumble of a true mean machine; the quick
jack bumpers are a great reminder of this car's track ability; and
the dual roll hoops means you can share this wide-open
bare-knuckled wild ride with someone special.
The interior definitely captures the Shelby attitude correctly with
wrap-around bucket seats and Schroth racing harnesses. The driver
gets the full Cobra experience with the three spoke wood steering
wheel and the shift lever that's been reversed to fit the driver
perfectly. All of this looks fantastic, leading us to believe there
has been a nice investment in the interior recently. There's a full
AutoMeter gauge package, which is critical if you're using your
Cobra on the track. There's no radio, no heater, no A/C - this is
first a competition machine that's all about enjoying the open air
and the driving experience with nothing else getting in the
way.
When you look under the hood of a Cobra, there's nothing better to
see than big bold Cobra air cleaner and valve covers. But beneath
this timeless tidy presentation lies enhanced performance. This 302
cubic-inch V8 has a bored .30 over kit (total displacement 306ci),
and it also includes go-fast goodies such as an Edelbrock
four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake, forged pistons
w/aftermarket rods, and hydraulic roller cam. The V8 was even
recently overhauled at Chuck's Performance (the one who builds
NASCAR motors) and includes new rocker arms and a full valve
service. This total investment makes for a strong motor that fires
right up, and it even has all the right support components for
reliable performance such as an MSD ignition, aluminum radiator,
and electric fan. This complete package does a great job of moving
the lightweight fiberglass body, and you can stay in the powerband
with ease thanks to the T5 five-speed manual transmission. Of
course, power is nothing without control. That's why this Cobra
comes with power steering, an independent front suspension, and
three-link coilover rear. It's backed up by a four-wheel disc brake
package that is connected to the expensive and grippy ZR-rated
tires mounted on those cool 17-inch, five-spoke alloys.
Complete with owner's manual, and we've also got $27K in receipts
that was invested in creating this Cobra (not including the initial
purchase price of the body and 306 block.) So what might have at
first looked like a good value for money, is something that you now
know is now one of best Cobra deals you're going to see. That's why
you know you have to hurry to snatch this one up. Call today!!
