In the 1960s, Ford encountered export problems into Germany with the Ford Mustang. To solve the problem, Ford changed the name of the exported Mustangs to the German market to the Ford T5; the original code name used for the Mustang. All the Mustang emblems on these cars were deleted and blacked out on parts. This factory 1966 Ford T5 Fastback still has its original core support German export VIN tag, export required additional VIN stampings and original speedometer showing 200 kilometers an hour. This T5 Fastback was converted in Germany into a Tribute Shelby GT 350 wide body road and track car. The wide body has been done with the highest standards including a correct Shelby-style R front Valance, fiberglass Shelby Hood and quarter windows. It's powered by a built high-revving correct 289ci that has made this car very quick and reliable and fires right up without hesitation. Performance features include roller rockers, headers, aluminum radiator, 7-quart T-style oil pan and a 4-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter. Track upgrades include subframe connectors, full-functional front and rear cooling brake duct vents, Shelby roll bar with 4-point seatbelts and rear seat delete package tray with spare. Handling upgrades include Shelby front lowered control arms, heavy-duty sway bars, rear Shelby traction bars, KYB shocks and 4-piston front disc brakes. It sits wide on 8.5 x 15" wheels with 265/50 tires. The core support on this car is a solid and original structure with all additional factory VIN stampings and welds. A street-legal, track-ready T5 that sits pretty.
