Vehicle Description
This total Resto-Mod was built in 2016 and has only test miles since completion. Originally built in Memphis, it was found in Tucson, AZ, having already been restored to near original condition. It was completely stripped, media blasted and rebuilt from the ground up as a modern Resto-Mod. Heidts independent suspension was added to the front and Ford aluminum independent suspension was added to the rear with 4-wheel powered disc brakes providing the stopping power. For the powertrain, an all-aluminum 32-valve DOHC Ford 4.6-liter modular engine was mated to an electronically controlled 4R70W automatic transmission. For the body, the bumpers and front end were shaved clean, a big back window was installed and the fenders were given a slight flare to fit the custom American Racing 20" wheels. The bed was completely seam welded for strength and to give it a cleaner appearance. Custom flush-mounted taillights were installed in the bedsides and hidden hinges with bear-claw latches were installed on the tailgate. The body was then finished in Ford's beautiful Magnetic Metallic Dark Gray with PPG clear coat. The interior features leather low-back seats, a custom center console with infotainment system and automatic air temperature control. Dakota Digital gauges, power windows, power locks, and keyless entry round out the interior features. Nearly every mechanical component is a Ford product allowing seamless integration between the chassis, powertrain, and electrical components with an eye towards ease of future service and maintenance.
