Vehicle Description
This vehicle is being sold as Lot No. F212.
- In 1964, the 250 cc model was added to the prestigious roster of Ducati single cylinder machines
- This model directly influenced all subsequent single cylinders until the famous 250, 350 and 450 cc "Scrambler" made their mark
- The Ducati 450 Scrambler produced 30 hp, and had some nice features like an extra gusset on the top tube, wider chains, longer Marzocchi forks, and a Silentium type silencer
- The first Scramblers (1962-1967) were derived from street-legal models, and featured "narrow case" engines with lightly altered frames
- It originally derived from a Ducati Diana road bike converted by Michael Berliner for dirt-track racing in America
- The professionally restored Ducati M450 featured here shows the high water mark of the classic Italian scramblers
