For Sale at Auction: 1954 Willys Military Jeep in Scottsdale, Arizona

Vehicle Description

This fully restored Jeep M38-A1 is being sold with a 1951 M-100 trailer. This underwent a high-end restoration by a retired veteran over a 15-year period in Tucson, AZ. It was restored using all-original parts, including the wiring harness for underwater use. The current owner purchased it to honor his father, who fought in the Korean War. It was just used in the 2016 Veterans Day parade. Prior to using the vehicle, since it sat for a number of years, the entire fuel system was restored, including cleaning the gas tank, rebuilding the carburetor, new spark plugs and wires. Built in 1953 by Willys-Overland Motors in Toledo, OH, this 4x4 has three forward speeds and one reverse with transfer by a 2-speed unit distributing power to the front and rear axles through propeller shafts. 1952 was the first year that the Willys Jeep featured round front fenders, a contoured hood, a two-piece windshield and top-mounted windshield wipers. This Korean War-era Jeep was used by the military to transport command, reconnaissance personnel and light cargo. New for 1952 was the F-head F4-134 "Hurricane" motor and Warner T-90 transmission. The original matching-numbers F-head 4-cylinder 2.2-liter 134ci motor develops 72hp at 4,000 rpm and 114 ft/lbs of torque. It is designed to run on as low as 68 octane. All gauges and lights are in working order, including three night-vision front lights. Attention to detail can be seen in the correct matte military green paint, new front and rear seating and new correct canvas top. It rides on 16x7" Cooper Cross Country tires with rear-mounted spare along with rear-mounted gas can. It also comes with a highly detailed motor and engine compartment. It's as clean on the underside as it is on top. Everything is in working order and ready to drive and enjoy. **SOLD AS A PAIR WITH LOT 164.1**
