Vehicle Description
This is a Concourse award winning 1957 Ford Thunderbird in Colonial
White that comes with two tops, the famous porthole top and the
convertible top that is stashed behind the seats. The 1957 model
would be the third and final year for the original two passenger
Thunderbird, and some feel the third year was the best one yet. It
is powered by a matching numbers D code 312 V8 with a 4bbl
carburetor and 2-speed Ford-O-Matic transmission. The carburetor is
new, but the original carburetor will be included with the car. The
high quality frame off restoration was completed in 2007. All parts
meet the correct 1957 specs that include a new wiring harness, new
suspension parts, new brakes and lines and new exhaust. Everything
under the hood is original and correct, including the 2 year old
battery that is correct for the period. This car has been with the
same owner since 1986 and the car has been meticulously cared for
and only driven about 3,000 miles since then. It has a show quality
shine and the bumpers were re-chromed to the highest level of
quality and the body is straight and very clean. The car was
painted with a basecoat and clear coat using high quality RM Paint.
The options included power steering, power brakes and power
windows. The installed radio is not correct, but the original Town
and Country radio that came with the car will be included and this
car even has the optional trunk mounted antennae. All gauges in the
dash are fully operational and yes, even the clock works as well.
Seat belts were added and the rear taillights with the reverse
white light are added for safety. The interior is in excellent
condition. The seats are new with a firm feel, the carpet is clean,
the door panels are excellent as well. It runs and handles very
well. This has to be one of the nicest T-Birds out there. Please
