For Sale: 1974 Volkswagen Beetle in Kentwood, Michigan

Vehicle Description

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1974 Volkswagen Beetle Coupe for purchase. The Volkswagen Beetle was designed to be as simple as possible mechanically for fewer needed repairs and ease of maintenance. The Beetle is simple, mechanically incredible, and an unmistakable icon all at the same time. These cars became popular all over the world and still hold dear for many as a classic collectible. Since beginning production in 1938 all the way to today, the Volkswagen Beetle is one of the oldest nameplates in automotive history. This manufacturer started in Germany where the first buildout was completed just prior to WW2 where, unfortunately for the company, was taken over for the war efforts and then bombed to near oblivion during war which put them back to square one. Rebuilding the factory was primarily for the continued need for Allied occupying troops but became available to the European market again in 1947. Back on their feet now, Volkswagen began importation to States in the 1950's but really took over the international market the following decade. The U.S. sales had ceased in 1979 but that didn't stop VW from continuing their production of the Beetle. The international sales migrated to both Mexico and Brazil and although not many changes occurred with the design of this vehicle for years to come, they were able to reach over 20 million sales of the Beetle worldwide!

Here is a nice surviving classic Beetle example. This 1974 Volkswagen "Bug" with the believed to be original mileage which currently sits under 65,000 miles! It features the strong 1600cc Flat 4-Cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission that works together smoothly. The brake lines, master cylinder, tires, carpet and paint has all been recently done according to the owner. The light tan interior isn't perfect but still demands lots of respect for a car that's over 40 years old. The seats appear original and free of any major holes or damage, overall in good condition. This Beetle starts on command and still shifts with ease. This is an amazing offer on an iconic Volkswagen Beetle, the car that challenged all car designers. It comes with two sets of keys, and the proud ownership of a classic Bug. Call or email today for more information!
