Vehicle Description
This vehicle is being sold as Lot No. S95.
- The 'Thruxton' race was started in 1955, but Triumph did not get serious about it until 1964. Most of what you have heard about Thruxtons came from 1965 when 49 were built at the factory, and looked like all out road racers. 65 units in all were built in 1964-1966. What happened prior to 1964 is very sketchy.
- Built from a bare frame and empty cases as a 1963 T120, but with the changes required by the frame, such as strap down tank, remote float, no kickstand, 'M' style bars, rear sets, and a front brake with air scoop
- The Seat and specialty parts came from George Hopwood who is a Thruxton expert in England
- 750 cc with a six spring pressure plate and NOS close ratio transmission
- Paint by Craig at Paintworks in Loves Park, Illinois
