Vehicle Description

West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely exceptional and extremely rare and collectible example of this original classic 1993 Jaguar XJR-S 6.0L V12 330HP 2+2 coupe with only 18,900 original miles! This is the most desirable collector's version of any XJS model, with all of the limited edition 100 cars built being numbered with the 'Asprey's' (The Queen's Jeweler) silver plaque on the center console and numbered for export to the U.S. in 1993, this being # 066-99 and recognized as such by the 'International Cabriolet Register' and the 'Silverstone amp; Jaguar Supercar Register' of England who inform us that contrary to popular opinion on the matter of their being 50 Signal Red and 50 Black cars produced; there were actually 22 'Signal Red' Coupes, 21 'Signal Red' Convertibles, 23 'Jet-Black' Coupes, 27 'Jet-Black' Convertibles and another 5 'Silver-Frost' color (4 coupes/1 convertible) promotional cars and 2 extremely rare Flamenco (or Regency) Red Coupes produced! We have previously owned three of these extraordinary models; including one of the two 'Flamenco Red' coupes (#01-99) and one of the very rare 'Silver-Frost' promotional coupes. This particular car is a true masterpiece and in absolutely fabulous condition throughout and boasts all of its original documentation and history of the car since new; including a full set of all of its original owners manuals, its 'Passport to Service' handbook, original window sticker, service records and letters from the two previous long time owners who both knew each other and who absolutely cherished this car!The cars factory options include:Exclusive 'Jaguarsport' developed 6.0L 330HP V12 EngineZytec Electronic Engine Management System (Same as XJ220)Automatic TransmissionPower 4 Wheel Disc Brakes with Anti-LockLeatherbound Tilt Steering Wheel with Driver AirbagSpeedline Alloy WheelsGoodyear 16" R-Rated WheelsRemote Lock/Alarm SystemElectronic Fuel InjectionElectronic Ignition SystemAutolux Fine Grain Leather Upholstery amp; TrimTrip ComputerCruise ControlSapwood Veneer Wood TrimSterling Silver Limited Edition ID PlateDriver Seat/Mirror MemoryHeated Front Seats with Power Lumbar AdjustmentColor-Keyed Front/Rear Bumpers/Sill Panels amp; Rear SpoilerThis original and gorgeous color combination of original factory 'Signal Red' color paint is virtually flawless having always been garaged and covered since new and the completely original beautiful doeskin 'Cream' color leather interior is also absolutely stunning and virtually flawless with special factory ordered limited edition floor mats. The original factory 'Signal Red' paint is truly striking and was showcased in the XJR-S brochure for the car and the rich interior is as fabulous with the fine grain leather seats and trim in as stated, virtually flawless condition throughout, with the high contrast walnut wood veneers and dashboard still as new. The car has it's original Jaguar radio/cassette system and all its original tools and the unused spare wheel have never been removed from the trunk. No amount of information can prepare you for the precision of this car's responses and the taut road handling you experience behind the wheel - this is no ordinary Jaguar or indeed to be confused with an XJS, Jaguarsport created a superb sports car at the same time and in the same factory as the XJ220, a car which routinely commands over $300K today and a car quoted in the 'Guinness Book of Records' 1994 to 1999 issues as "the fastest speed ever attained by a standard production car with a top speed of over 217mph" before being replaced by another British car, the McLaren F1 which drove 240.1 mph (386.4 km/h) in March 1998 with rev-limiter increased.; we feel that this rare XJR-S is a true sleeper in every sense of the word in the Collector Sports Car market and a car which will ultimately reward any future collector handsomely. This car is as previously stated, truly virtually flawless. All the options are working as they should including obviously the air conditioning. This particular car must be seen and driven to be truly appreciated! The car was sold new at 'Sovereign Jaguar' of Hicksville, NY on 3/12/1994 to a reportedly mature female owner who took great pride in the car and who always garaged the car in her New York home and who drove only some 8K original miles. It was then sold in the year 2000 to its second owner in Austin, TX who drove the for some 5K further miles and who then sold the car to his close friend/colleague who lived in San Diego, CA; with all correspondence and documentation to collaborate all this information to be sold with the car. The car was serviced at primarily only Jaguar dealerships since new and had a recent complete service at 18,032 miles at 'San Diego European Motorcars' the Jaguar dealership of San Diego, CA and the car boasts a clean bill of health. From looking at these extensive service records it is obvious that at no time was any expense spared on this particular vehicles preventive maintenance. As previously stated the car has reportedly always been garaged with absolutely no history of any accident damage with all original factory OEM parts and paint, obviously owned by only very careful and mature drivers since new - never ever raced or abused! Powered by one of the finest, race proven engines built by Jaguar, the smooth big block 6.0L V12 engine (earlier XJS models used a 5.3L V12) which was produced for only the last three years of production (1993-95) and completely discontinued the following year 1995, it is an extremely low production model with only some 100 models built! It was a worthy successor to the XK series of Jaguar sports cars dating from the late 1940's and this particular example drives exceptionally well - extraordinarily smooth and powerful - it must surely drive exactly the same as when it left the showroom floor over 17 years ago!Following a tradition of automotive innovation, Jaguar created an extension of it's mainstream manufacturing operations to continue the development of vehicles which more fully explored and expanded performance and handling potential of it's sedans and sporting cars. TRW stands for the championship winning 'Tom Walkinshaw Racing' who had been modifying XJS's for street use until the formation of a 50/50 joint venture with Jaguar Cars Ltd to form 'JaguarSport' in 1988. TRW brought the highest of credentials to the enterprise with responsibility for IMSA GT Racing in the United States and the World Sports Car Championship Series, TRW boasted three World championships and wins at both the 24 hours Le Mans and the Daytona 24 hours; the two foremost endurance sports car races on earth. JaguarSport engineers, based at TRW's Kidlington headquarters in Oxfordshire, England developed a range of modified Jaguars including the XJR-S and the world's fastest production car at that time, the 200+ MPH Jaguar XJ220. Both vehicles were built at JaguarSport's manufacturing facility at Bloxham in the Cotswolds, England. JaguarSport engineered a high performance version of the standard 5.3 litre V12 for the XJR-S. Many of the same components which were modified for the XJ12 engine were modified for the XJR-S V12. Displacement was expanded to 6.0 litres (5993 cc) by lengthening the crank shaft stroke by 70mm to 78.5 mm. The combustion chamber had to be enlarged, creating a compression ratio of 11.0:1. Horsepower was increased to 330 bhp with a massive mid-range torque of 339 lb ft @ 3750 rpm. The car will go 0-60mph in 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 157mph. Whilst immensely powerful, respecting another great Jaguar tradition, it delivered its power in near silence with the inimitable smoothness that has always been a Jaguar hallmark.
