For Sale: 1970 Plymouth Road Runner in O'Fallon, Illinois

Vehicle Description

For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner V-code powered by a 440 cubic inch Big Block and a 6-Barrel intake. Painted in one of Mopar's great colors, Lemon Twist Yellow with black striping and a black vinyl roof over standard black vinyl interior. The Road Runner was a performance based car produced by Plymouth from 1968 to 1980. Its initial concept was to take the muscle car back to its basic form, a cheap car with a big motor. Which by the way the Road Runner came through on all accounts. Consequently the Road Runner outsold the heavily optioned, more expensive GTX , the back to basics idea worked. Plymouth did pay Warner Bros. $50,000 for permission to use the name and likeness of their popular cartoon character Road Runner, and even shelled out $10,000 to develop the "beep beep" horn. One walk around this Road Runner and you will quickly appreciate the quality and attention to detail that went into the restoration of this 1970 classic muscle car.
