In contrast to its usual policy of evolution rather than revolution Rolls-Royce introduced their New Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn New Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit and New Rolls-Royce Silver Spur models during late 1995. The extended-wheelbase version of the New R-R Silver Spur was still offered as a Rolls-Royce Touring Limousine and in addition it had been promoted a separate model the Rolls-Royce Park Ward. In response to market demand Rolls-Royce further decided that from the 1997 model year on a long-wheelbase chassis would be standard on all their models. Powering all Rolls-Royce models for 1996 with the exception of the New Silver Dawn were V-8 engines delivering greater power output and lowered exhaust emissions. Derived from the long-running Rolls-Royce engine design the 6.75-litre 90-degree V-8 was based upon an aluminum-silicon alloy cylinder block with cast-iron liners and aluminum cylinder heads. Bosch Motronic fuel injection and digital ignition provided enhanced efficiency. A 4-speed automatic transmission 4-wheel independent suspension adaptive ride control 4-wheel disc brakes ABS and VR-rated tires provided incomparable refinement and high-speed performance. As before passenger compartments featured Connolly leather upholstery rich wooden veneers and comprehensive luxury amenities. Offered from the Missoula Auto Museum Collection and without reserve this 1996 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur is one of only 507 examples of the New Rolls-Royce Silver Spur produced for 1995 through 1998 including the Silver Spur Touring Limousine. A very well-equipped example it features a blue roof covering striking blue paint finish polished wheels upholstery piped blue matching carpeting and a very pleasing appearance consistent with good care inside and out.
