Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale January 19th - 22nd, 2017 at Russo and Steele's 17th Annual Scottsdale Arizona Auction at the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. Please contact us for more information. This restored 1971 Plymouth Duster 340 offered here is an original 340 car with the original VIN, Fendertag, and Door decal. I have owned this car for over 2 years and I know of the 2 previous owners that detail its history back to 1980. My good friend Joe owned this car just short of 30 years. He was a racer/ collector from the Lancaster Ca area. This car raced at L.A. County raceway as well as other area tracks. In the early 2000's Joe decided to restore it back to original and take it to local shows. The Duster has its original panels and was painted in the very early 90's. The engine was rebuilt by Joe, who is a talented engine builder in his own right, and the transmission rebuilt by Protrans in Lancaster. The original block and trans are lost but it does have date code correct parts right down to the details, such as the carb, distributor, and exhaust manifolds. The exhaust system is new as well from Accurate. This car is well optioned, per the fender tag, with bucket seats, console, power steering, disc brakes, 3.23 sure grip, and air conditioning. The A/C just went through a total rebuild including the underdash systems. It has been charged with R12 and blows ice cold. This car drives excellent and is quite a nice cruiser with a good punch when the need arises. This is a typical California desert car that is as rust free as they come!
