Vehicle Description

Vehicle to be offered for Auction sale January 19th - 22nd, 2017 at Russo and Steele's 17th Annual Scottsdale Arizona Auction at the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. Please contact us for more information. Inspired by the hit Nicolas Cage movie "Gone in 60 Seconds," this stunning 1967 Shelby GT500 "R" (Eleanor) Super Snake is based on a California Mustang Fastback with a complete, documented restoration with virtually no expense spared and no detail overlooked. It began life as a real R-Code California Mustang Fastback with a factory V-8. The complete 3-year build began in 2011 and was finalized in 2014. Restoration work included the complete driveline, engine, transmission, upgraded brakes, front and rear end, all wiring, all seats, rubber, brakes, you name it! The all-new interior is equipped with Shelby signature high-back seats and Shelby roll bar. Vital functions are monitored via white-face Phantom gauges with tachometer, and the audio system is complete with a AM-FM- CD stereo head unit with remote with amplifier. Additional creature comforts include new carpeting, headliner, door panels, dash, door seals, and more, including air conditioning by Classic Auto Air. The battery is trunk-mounted. Power is delivered by a Ford high-performance 460 SCJ V-8, professionally re-machined and built with all high-performance forged internals and a high-performance cam, plus Aluminum intake, Holley carb, electronic ignition, billet Aluminum pulleys, with a 4-row Aluminum radiator and dual electric fans for cool running. It is backed up by a new high-performance built Ford C-6 transmission, connected to a Ford 9-inch rear end with Aubrn Tru-Trac. Underpinnings include TCP Total Control Products front suspension and rack-and-pinion power steering, plus all new SSBC 4-wheel disc brakes. The body was completely reconditioned and is laser-straight with no waves, no rust, and no issues. Highlights include the one-piece Shelby GT500 R-style front apron with the 'Eleanor' road lamps and billet grille. The Shelby hood is a functional Ram Air piece to feed the massive engine, and the Shelby side scoops are functional for cooling the rear brakes. Correct Shelby taillights and a flip-down gas filler cap, plus 'Eleanor' side mirrors and 17-inch wheels with new performance tires heighten the image. The paint is a multiple-coat "Gone in 60 Seconds" DuPont Pepper Green-Gray Metallic base/clear finish that is as clean, deep, and glossy as you will find anywhere. All receipts are contained within a binder and document all new parts and upgrades. A show stopping turnkey powerhouse that stands ready to drive or win any car show, this vehicle is reported to handle the road extremely well. It has all the power you could want and then some and looks, smells, and feels virtually as new. The car is listed on the "Eleanor" Registry as # 275.
