The top of the line in its day, the Chrysler CG Imperial Dual Cowl Phaeton presented a silhouette that was the envy of the auto industry. 1931 was the first year Chrysler produced the Inline 8 cylinder engine and the Imperial Dual Cowl was designed by Walter Percy Chrysler with body by American coachbuilder LeBaron. The attractive Dual Cowl body is fitted to what is believed to have originally been a sedan chassis. Its maroon coachwork is accented by the dark maroon fenders and belt accent set off by red pinstripes that complement the light grey leather interior. Dual windscreens with windwings, Depress Beam headlamps, chrome grille guard, and 6 wire wheels painted to match the pinstripes. A black luggage compartment completes the ensemble. The highly presentable quality of this car is told in the age of the restoration.
