Vehicle Description
We love to treat Chevelles like blank canvases. The results are
amazing, but it also really makes take notice when we find a
cool-looking 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle hardtop with its original
number-matching big block 396 that that we believe has ultra low
mileage.
It's easy to understand why you find this Chevelle so visually
stunning. It has had a recent respray that gives the black an
unmistakable high gloss shine. It also doesn't hurt that the
contrasting white stripes were painted on to complete the correct
SS 396 look. Fit and finish are quite good, and that helps
highlight the excellent condition of the body. Cars that may have
never been apart in their lifetime are special, and this one drives
like it. A true, functioning, cowl-induction hood and hood pins add
an aggressive look, and the SS gear in 1972 included a blacked-out
grille and a few well-placed badges around the perimeter. Overall,
it's a great aggressive appearance with just the right amount of
shine from the window trim and tightly fitting chrome bumpers. But
more than just intimidating, this coupe gets its premium details
right, too. The newer black vinyl roof and proper SS wheels makes
for a total package that will fill you with pride.
A clean white interior is a great way to get a premium appearance
while retaining that factory-correct look. The bucket seats are
armchair comfortable, and since we believe this coupe has averaged
less than 530 miles annually, the little seat time makes them
exceptionally fresh. The pristine color is easy to maintain because
the vinyl cleans up in a snap. Plus, carpets are black so you never
have to worry about taking your shoes off before hopping in and
going for a drive... and that's exactly what this car was built to
do. You have the correct dual-spoke steering wheel, comfortable
center console, iconic horseshoe shifter, and sporty round gauge
panel. Even the long trips are a breeze thanks to provisions for
factory air conditioning and an upgraded AM/FM stereo with input
for modern music players (the original AM radio also comes with the
sale.)
Under the hood is what we all love to see big block power. The
numbers-matching 396 cubic-inch V8 (well, really 402ci) looks
fantastic with the bold orange block looking like its radiating
power out of the tidy black engine bay. And yes, that's a proper
cowl induction element on the hood and around the air cleaner. This
original powerplant also still has an original Rochester Quadrajet
four-barrel carburetor. And you instantly know that there was
serious time and money invested in the care and maintenance simply
how this big bock fires up with turn key ease. While you'll love to
hear the V8 growl out of the dual exhaust, it also feels great on
the road with easy driving features like the TH400 three-speed
automatic transmission, Chevelle's supple suspension, and front
disc brakes.
Rarely does a great-looking Chevelle also come with such a great
pedigree. Complete with owner's manual, and jack in the trunk, you
already know what kind of special package this is, and so you also
know you have to act fast to take it home. Call now!!
